Dr Scott Courtney, Managing Director

Dr Scott Courtney joined Boron Molecular as Production and Operations Manager in July 2005.  He was later appointed as Managing Director of Boron Molecular in May, 2007.  Dr Courtney trained as an organic synthetic chemist during his undergraduate studies at Monash University, where he later transferred his synthetic skills to undertake a PhD in the Bio-Inorganic field of d-block transition metal chemistry.  After graduating in 1998 and taking on several postdoctoral stints at Monash University, he launched his industry career as a Research & Development Chemist / Project leader at the Institute of Drug Technology in Melbourne from 1999 until 2003 when he was later promoted to positions of Production Schedule Manager / Corporate Support / Exports Manager.  He remained in this position until leaving to join Boron Molecular in mid 2005.

Scott’s multi-disciplined experience in the bio-tech industry has provided him with invaluable insight into the specific needs of a growing drug discovery company.
 

Mr Ken Sullivan, Sales & Marketing - US Agent

Ken Sullivan is based at Boron Molecular’s sales office at Raleigh, NC, USA.  He joined Boron Molecular in September 2004.  He is a skilled and experienced sales professional with direct experience selling boronic chemicals to large and medium sized businesses.  He is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Zoology.  He is engaged by Boron Molecular via an agency agreement operating between Boron Molecular and an entity controlled by Mr Sullivan.
 

Dr Jacob Golding, Operations & Quality Manager

Dr Golding joined the Company as its Operations Manager in June 2007.  Previous industry experience saw Jacob employed as a senior development chemist at SDI Australia Limited - a company primarily involved in the R&D, process development, manufacturing and marketing of specialist dental restorative materials.  Dr Golding has also gained valuable experience in several other internationally respected institutions, including Monash University (School of Chemistry & the Green Chemistry Centre) and at CSIRO (Manufacturing and Infrastructure Technology). Dr Golding has a history of success in research, education, management and private industry roles.  Jacob’s role at Boron has crossed over into process development and large scale production management and includes the management and implementation of all quality control systems though-out the company.

Dr Michael Nairn, Production and product Development Manager

Dr Nairn obtained his PhD in organic chemistry from Massey University in New Zealand. After postdoctoral work at the University of Sydney looking at anti-cancer compounds, he was employed as a medicinal chemist at The Australian National University in a joint venture with GlaxoSmithkline pharmaceuticals. There he worked on a range of anti-bacterial enzyme inhibitors which involved active site modelling, bioassays, electrospray mass spectrometry and semi-preparative HPLC. In 2003 he joined the staff at Boron Molecular as a synthetic chemist, and since this time has been involved with the development of Boron Molecular's product range, process transfer and scale up of R&D procedures, custom synthesis and intermediate sourcing.
