The newly formed strategic partnership strengthens the positions of both companies on the
worldwide market for organoboron molecules
Caen, France, September 27th 2011 – BoroChem today announced it has concluded a major strategic
partnership agreement with Boron Molecular to jointly market and distribute both companies’
organoboron compounds and synthetic intermediates to the worldwide (bio)pharmaceutical,
cosmetic, agrochemical and materials science industries. The technical expertise and know‐how of
both companies, and their comprehensive and complementary product ranges, enable Boron
Molecular and BoroChem to pursue mutual growth within the fine chemicals market and establish
themselves as major players on the worldwide market for organoboron compounds.
BoroChem and Boron Molecular have significant experience and expertise in the field of
organoboron compounds. Both companies provide rare and unique building‐blocks on catalogue and
custom synthesis capabilities to research teams using fine chemicals. Moreover, both companies
possess complementary assets in scale and technology that will enable the partners to leverage their
alliance in the global fine chemicals market.
BoroChem and Boron Molecular have complementary product offerings, with the overlap between
both catalogues being only 20%, thereby creating a vast array of boron compounds and specialty
chemicals.
BoroChem has unique know‐how in the preparation of organoboron derivatives at very low
temperature. This cryoboration technique enables to better control reaction speed, to enhance
specificity, and to reduce unwanted side products. Boron Molecular has extensive experience and
know‐how in the boronation of compounds by catalytic intermolecular cross‐coupling with patented
processes and in house know‐how. The experience of both BoroChem and Boron Molecular, and the
different techniques that can be applied, multiply the chances of finding an appropriate solution to
customers’ synthesis issues, offering a comprehensive and cohesive production path, from lab‐bench
to kilo‐lab and beyond.
Based in France, BoroChem is well‐established in Europe, whereas Boron Molecular has concentrated
on the United States market from its Australian headquarters. The partnership agreement will help
Boron Molecular better access Europe, and facilitates BoroChem’s access to the American market.
